Sand to Snow National Monument

Formed on February 11, 2016, Sand to Snow includes Big Morongo Canyon Preserve within this 154,000-acre monument which extends from Bureau of Land Management lands on the Sonoran desert floor up to over 10,000 feet in the San Gorgonio Wilderness in the San Bernardino National Forest. National Monument status recognizes the value of the Preserve as an area of critical environmental concern, and protects wildlife linkages between the San Bernardino mountains and the Coachella Valley.
