Do you enjoy walks in a natural setting? Do you enjoy learning more about our four-legged neighbors? Do you enjoy sharing your experiences with others? If you can say yes to any of these questions, Big Morongo Canyon Preserve has a place for you and invites you to join us as a volunteer. You don’t need to be an expert or have a college degree, just a desire to enjoy one of our nation’s most “Watchable Wildlife Sites.”
Volunteer opportunities
- Preserve Ambassador
- Staff the kiosk to greet visitors and answer questions about the Preserve, its trails, plants, and animals.
- Trails and Maintenance
- Trail cleanup, installation/maintenance of interpretive signs; clearing vegetation. May also use blowers, weed eaters, mowers, chippers, chainsaws.
- Education Docents
- Work with the education committee to design and conduct engaging, place-education programs.
- Native Plant and Pollinator Garden
- Maintain the gardens, plants, and irrigation systems.
